Blog . Austin Perez: Naalaya Iyakunar

Naalaya Iyakunar is a tamil television show telecasted on Kalaingar TV every sunday 11:00am. This is a short film competition where teams have to submit their short films and out of the submissions, few are shortlisted (32 teams) and telecasted on TV for the first round, and we were one of the few who were fortunate enough to get selected. Now, a theme is given for the second round and teams are told to make a short film based on that theme. Every episode consists of 4 short films out of which 3 go to the next round and 1 team is eliminated. This process goes on an on until we reach the finals.

We started participation in Nov 2013, crossed 6 rounds and reached the finals which will be telecasted on Jan 4, 2015. That's more than a year. Never expected to come this far, but we are glad that we made it to the finals. We are not able to share all the films on youtube since we have copyright issues and stuff, but I am posting a couple of our movies which are made public by the television channel.
